While soccer fans await some feedback from the Fiji Football Association, Suva coach, Gurjit Singh says they won the IDC final against Ba, fair and square.
Game officials ruled a legitimate goal was scored by Suva before Ba players retaliated leaving the Fiji FA to abandon the match and contemplate on how to move forward.
Singh has boldly stated that in the eyes of soccer fans around the country, Suva are the 2012 IDC champs.
“It was clearly a goal and it was unfortunate that it all got out of hand. In fact, it was quite dangerous with people in the stands throwing bottles and even stones, some of which hit one of our officials.”
Singh adds after all the drama, even if they were awarded the trophy, Sunday’s incident has already taken out the sting in celebrations.
Singh says he spoke to Ba coach, Yogendra Dutt who verbally admitted to the goal being rightly awarded.
