The second biggest group is athletics where Javelin thrower Leslie Copeland, long jumper Eugene Vollmer and sprinters Banuve Tabakaucoro with Younis Bese have been selected.

Team Fiji Chef de Mission Lyndall Fisher says athletes who want to appeal can do so.

“If there is an appeal we have an independent appeals tribunal who will meet the athletes on Monday afternoon to make a decision and their decision will be final because for the CWG the entries close in Glasgow at midnight on the 11 June so that’s why the strict guidelines have to be set.”

Also going to the Glasgow games is Judoka Josateki Naulu who is based in Japan and Fiji’s top shooter Glen Kable.

Manueli Tulo is the lone male weightlifter and he is accompanied by Seruwaia Malani, Julia Timi and Apolonia Vaivai.

Team Fiji’s swimming team consists of Meli Malani and William Clark.

The Commonwealth Games will take place in Scotland from July 23 to August 3.
