The USA 7s side has defended its Las Vegas title in style thumping Samoa 27-nil in the cup final.

The Mike-Friday-coached side led 10-nil at half time with tries coming in from Ben Pinkelman and Matai Leuta.

The USA piled three more tries in the second spell to seal the match.

This is USA’s first victory this season after consecutively playing the finals in the past four tournaments.

Meanwhile, the New Zealand 7s side managed to secure the much-needed points beating Argentina 26-19 in the bronze play-off.

Scotland won the Challenge Trophy beating Spain 15-14.
