Tough competition at the Radradra 7s

Tight competition is expected on the last day of the Radradra 7’s tournament at the Welagi Grounds in Taveuni tomorrow.

Tournament Director Sakiusa Veitogavi says they are not taking any teams likely, whether they are local or laced with national reps.

Semi Radradra’s Eiffel Ruggers team, which consists of mainly current national 7s reps as well as a few overseas-based players played to a 10-all draw with Taveuni Orchids, consisting of players from First Light Taveuni and Cross of Victory.

Veitogavi says the best of 7’s rugby will be on display today.

“The best team will win tomorrow and we expect very tough and clean competition especially with the national coach Gareth Baber’s presence witnessing a lot of talents here in Taveuni.”

The furthest teams are from Kadavu, Gau, Navosa and Lautoka.

About 21 teams are from Vanua Levu.

Altogether, 40 teams are fighting for the $16,000 main prize money.

Meanwhile, in the Under 20 competition, the winner walks away with $2,500.

And in the Netball competition, the winning team takes $1,000
