Fijiana to play China in the Challenge Trophy semi-final

The Fiji Airways Fijiana 7s side failed to qualify to the Cup quarter-final after finishing last in its pool at the Sydney 7s today.

The Saiasi Fuli coached side will play China in the Challenge trophy semi-final tomorrow.

The Fijiana 7s side lost its final pool match by 24-19 against Ireland.

Rajeli Daveua is expected to miss the rest of the matches for the side after coping a straight red card for a high tackle against the Irish side.

The side earlier defeated Russia 21-12 and lost to Canada by 36-12.

Meanwhile, in the Cup quarterfinals defending champions Australia will face France.

The Aussie side tops its pool despite losing its last match against USA by 19-12.

New Zealand faces Canada in the first quarterfinal, Russia plays USA following which Ireland faces Spain.

The women’s competition kicks off at 1.06pm tomorrow.
