Ryan to announce final squad today

November 19, 2015 5:09 pm

It is highly unlikely that Vodafone Fiji 7s coach, Ben Ryan will name any new players today in the 12-member squad to compete in the opening leg of the World Sevens Series next month.

Barring any surprises, the likes of skipper, Osea Kolinisau, Isake Katonibau, Pio Tuwai and Savenaca Rawaca are tipped to be included for the opening two tournaments in Dubai and Cape Town.

Other surviving players from last season who are likely to get the nod include Jerry Tuwai, Apisai Domolailai, Jasa Veremalua, Vatemo Ravouvou, Kitione Taliga and Amenoni Nasilasila.

It will be a good battle in the forwards with Ryan opting for either elusive giant, Viliame Mata or hard-running No. 8, Nemani Nagusa.

The remaining players in the 17-member extended squad are the uncapped trio, Emori Waqa, Sevuloni Moce and Alivereti Veitokani.

Ryan will name the final 12-member squad at 11am today in Deuba for the opening leg of the World Series in Dubai on December 4th and 5th and the Cape Town 7s the following week.
