Last year’s finalist at the Skyline Police Football Inter District Championships Western 2 has made a good start to the tournament this year.

Former Ba and Suva rep Ronald Lawrence led the side to a 2-1 win over Headquarters which had Inosi Cava in their squad.

In another match Simione Tamanisau and Akuila Mataisuva’s PSRU (Police Special Response Unit) were held to a nil all draw against the Easter side.

Defending champions Northern are currently playing Southern 2.

Pool matches continue today and tomorrow at the Nasova Grounds in Nasese while the semifinals and final will be played on Saturday after which the Police team to play Army in the Sukuna Bowl will be named.
