The Newtown Rugby Club beat Uluinakau 9-3 to win the 2017 Nasinu Rugby Union final yesterday.

Newtown Captain, Ilaitia Bola says they have come this far and their sacrifices have finally paid off.

“We want to thank the Almighty God for giving us the strength. We bowed out in the semifinal last year but we have worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices this year to win the cup and we made it.”

The team who was guided by Vodafone Fiji 7s rep, Jerry Tuwai walked away with $1400 and the Ram Sami Cup while runners up, Uluinakau took $1000.
