Finishing as runners ups in the U12 grade in the Central and Eastern Zone Primary Schools Netball competition is a big achievement for the Wainikeli District School.

They lost to Suva in the U12 final 28-11.

Setaita Radredre who is part of the team officials says defeating teams like Suva and Kadavu who are known for their dominance in the sport is something she feels proud of.

Preparation for the team in training took us about one month because they already trained for the CBS tournament in Taveuni. Financially the parents took three weeks to raise funds for the team’s expenses.

She says having everyone’s support was something that boosted their morale.
