IDC semifinalists confirmed

The Courts Inter District Championship title holders Lautoka are through to the semifinal and faces neighbours Nadi on Tueaday.

Lautoka finished as runner up with two wins and a loss while Nadi qualified with nine points from its group.

Lautoka coach Kamal Swamy says despite the loss to Labasa the side is on track to retain thier title.

“The fans need to understand we have been long with the team we know what we need to do and get the win. We will surely come as a tough team in the semifinal.”

Nadi coach Babz Khan says his team displayed good football in the pool games but need to be focused.

“We have few areas to improve and work on as Lautoka will be a tough team to beat.”

In the first semi-final Labasa faces Suva at ANZ Stadium.

Labasa defeated Ba 2-nil in its last pool match and qualified as pool leaders with nine points.

Siotame Kubu and Pita Levaci scored a goal each in the game.

Labasa coach Johan Leewai says Suva is a tough team and they need to regroup and come stronger.

“Suva is a very tough teams as they have a lot of good players. We need to have a good game plan if we are to best them.”

Suva coach Gurjeet Singh says his team has started to shine and he expects them to can carry the momentum.

“We have started to click and I hope we continue with our performace”

In the first Premeir Divsion semifinal on Tuesday, Labasa plays Suva at 2.30pm and Nadi meets Lautoka at 5pm.

In the Senior Division semifinal on same day, Navua faces Tailevu Naitasiri at 10am and Lami battles it out against Nadroga at 12 midday.
