The unbeaten Friends United of Nasinu will feature in the finals of the National Club Championship this weekend despite being held 1-all by Buiduna in its last pool match yesterday.
The side hammered Nakasi Lions 7-0 in its opening pool game and then defeated Combine Brothers of Suva 5-0.
Coach Tama Vosuqa says the players were reminded to stay focus and prepare for the finals.
“The message is the simple to the boys is to take one game at a time. This is the qualifying round but the main one is next week which is the national championship and the boys are reminded to score more goals.”
In another match, Navuso Barbarians beat Chelsea FC 5-3.
Meanwhile, defending champions Blues FC of Nadi became the first team to qualify for the NCC finals in the Western Division.
The Nadi side finished its last pool game in a 4-all draw against Sports Club of Lautoka.
FC United of Lautoka defeated Gandhi Lionz of Nadi 2-1, while YCF of Ba thrashed Tuva FC of Nadroga 6-1.
Both the winning teams qualified for the NCC finals this weekend.
