Suva out to create history in Muslim IDC

The Suva Muslim football team are heading to the Inter District Championship with all guns blazing ready to be crowned champions this year.

The Moshin Khan coached side will be out to write the history books at this year’s edition of the tournament at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

Despite the minimum preparation time, the Capital City side with both experienced and youth players are aiming to bring the glory to Suva for the first time.

The new president of the Suva Muslim Sports Association , Mohammed Zeyaad Hussain is very optimistic and believes the team will come out victorious.

“Football is a simple game . Everything is possible, from the moment you work hard and you believe in your qualities. I have a very good team of new officials and I am really happy receiving utmost support from the FML Suva Branch. The association secretary is Mr Azhar , General Treasurer is Mr Zulfikar and Team is managed by Mohammed Imraan. I would also like to acknowledge Fiji Muslim League particularly, for embarking this tournament and giving opportunity to the people of Fiji to unite , in the name of soccer”.

The Whites will start their campaign against Ba on Friday at 8am and than faces Maro Muslim in the second match at 1.45pm on the same day.

The final match is expected to be played on Saturday, where the FUMIKO Suva faces host Nadi in the final pool match.

The tournament ends on Sunday, 4th of Apiril.
