The Fiji men’s football team thrashed American Samoa 9-0 at the Pacific Games in Samoa.

Tito Vodowaqa scored four goals while Malakai Rakula and Christopher Wasasala scored twice and Setareki Hughes netted one.

Fiji now has six points after having beaten Tahiti 2-1 in its opening match.

Fiji’s next game will be against New Caledonia on Friday at 12 midday.

The Bula Boys earlier defeated Tahiti 2-1.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Women’s Basketball team defeated New Caledonia 82-40 in their second pool match.

The Fiji Men’s Basketball team will be taking on the Solomon Islands in their second pool match at 3.30pm this afternoon.

Looking at the medal tally, Fiji stands at third place with 4 Gold, 5 Silver and 6 Bronze medals.

New Caledonia leads the medal tally with 9 gold, 9 silver and 6 bronze while Tahiti is in second place with 7 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze medals.
