Fiji wins bronze in Va'a in PNG

As the 2015 Pacific Games continues in Papua New Guinea, Team Fiji has managed to win only bronze medal so far today.

The side sits on four gold, four silver and nine bronze medals and is fifth on the tally.

The latest bronze medal came in the women’s Va’a V12 final, while PNG won gold and Tahiti was second.

PNG has taken the lead on the medal tally with 13 gold, seven silver and five bronze medals, while Tahiti is second with 12 gold, five silver and a bronze.

Australia is third with five gold, 11 silver and three bronze medals, New Caledonia is fourth with five gold, four silver and five bronze.

Meanwhile, the Fiji women’s basketball side has beaten American Samoa 81-73.
In sailing, Fiji didn’t have a good day finishing fifth in the first race and seventh in the second outing.

The women’s cricket side is currently playing the hosts in its third match, after having beaten New Caledonia earlier on.

In men’s football, the Fiji U23 team is currently playing Tahiti and both teams are locked at nil-all.

Later tonight, the Fijian swimmers will be in action during the finals.
