The Fiji swimming team will use the Oceania Championship competition as part of the preparation for international tournaments.

Coach Sharon Pickering, says they’re looking at a bigger picture and are working towards their goal.

“Well we’ve got our short course World’s end of the year, they have to qualify for that they looking at sending a team in the early part of the year to Australia and New Zealand to participate in the age group and the Open Nationals. So we just have to keep them healthy, well and injury free and just prepare themselves well.”

Meanwhile, team Fiji will compete in the Oceania Championship from the 25th to the 29th of next month at Papua New Guinea.
