The Fiji Pearls netball team is banking on its experienced players to lead the charge as they begin their quest to win the World Cup, this Friday.
Coach, Kate Carpenter says the squad has a range of different types of athletes that will make an impact at the competition.
“We’ve got a blend of experience youths. Seven of them have been to the World Cup before, Mere Nailiku and Matila Waqanidrola has been to four, so that’s a huge achievement, and especially Tila because she’s only been unavailable for only one tour.”
The side has been also joined by ace shooter Una Rauluni to cover for Taraima Mitchell.
The national side takes on Wales in their first preliminary round match in Sydney on Friday at 11:50am and you can watch this game at 3.30pm on FBC TV.
