Weightlifting Fiji’s golden girl Eileen Cikamatana has pulled out from the Oceania and two other championships.
Cikamatana says she stands in solidarity with her lifters of Levuka against the decision of federations President Atma Maharaj and a few of his executive board members to remove Joe Vueti as a coach.
“I’m pulling out of three international competition which are the Oceania Championship, World Junior Championship and the World Championship. Those are the three competition that I targeted to win more medals for the country and for my career in the sport. The reason is because of the appointment of the new coach.”
She adds that none of the lifers and the officials from Levuka were advised on the appointment of Iranian coach, Hossein Tavakoli.
Cikamatana is coming back to Fiji on Monday and will then decide on her future with her parents coach Vueti.
