The 2018 Cakaudrove rugby campaign kicked off yesterday with a bang at the Ratu Ganilau Park in Savusavu.
Fiji Rugby Union staff Geoff Webster and Bill Gadolo were also part of the competition, scouting for talents.
Cakaudrove Rugby Union Secretary Megan Simpson says they were encouraged by the turnout yesterday and looks forward to today’s final pool matches and finals.
“With our new approx.2000 seat stadium due to be signed off next week a good crowd witnessed our 4 Provincial rugby zones play some entertaining rugby, physical with some bruising encounters yesterday.”
Simpson adds players, coaches, managers will have every opportunity to impress selectors to be chosen into their Provincial Cakaudrove squad to prepare for the FRU Vodafone rugby championships later this year.
The competition kicks off at 9am with the U20s Grand final commencing at 2pm followed by the senior’s final.
