Bodden Town welcomed with a blast

A traditional welcome like no other greeted Cayman Islands club Bodden Town who are in Auckland, New Zealand to compete in the inaugural OFC President’s Cup.

The side has travelled one of the greatest distances of any participating team, 14, 745 km, so when 11-year-old Flanshaw Road School student David Ratahi launched into the haka, the travel –weary players were given a new life.

Bodden Town is pooled with Auckalnd City and Singapore Under 23 at the Presidents Cup.

Meanwhile, the Fiji U20 will be playing Amicale in its opening match at the President’s Cup in New Zealand on Monday at 7.30pm.

The second pool match is against Busaiteen of Bahrain next Friday at 7.30pm.
