Australia 7s suffer triple injury blow

Fiji pool opponents, Australia 7s side has been dealt with injuries ahead of the Hamilton tournament this weekend.

Captain Lewis Holland, Boyd Killingworth and Jesse Parahi will miss the tournament.

Holland sustained a thigh injury during the team’s victorious campaign at the Sydney Sevens.

Aussie forward Killingworth misses with a hamstring injury while coach Andy Friend has opted to rest breakdown specialist Parahi after a heavy workload.

James Stannard will take over the captaincy for the side.

Australia is pooled with Fiji, Wales and Spain.

Meanwhile, Fiji plays Wales in its first pool game at 11.36am on Saturday, and then takes on Spain at 3.02pm before battling Australia at 6.50pm.

The cup quarterfinals starts at 11.36am on Sunday, the semis will be played at 3.49pm while the final kicks off at 7.03pm.
