A lot of talented athletes says Bower

Secretary of the Fiji Primary Schools Athletics Association, Patrick Bower has seen a lot of potential in the athletes taking part in the chow games.

Bower believes a lot of development has taken place in the past few years.

Looking at some of these athletes these young one who are quite slim you wouldn’t think they would be able to throw. Well we start off with the cricket ball you know rather than the shot-put or discuss for some of them, and they are so small but they manage to throw that ball a fair distance.

At the end of Day 1 of the 2019 Fiji Primary Schools Chow Games, Team Suva have claimed the top spot on the overall medal tally with 7 gold, 3 silver and 9 bronze medals.

Ra are placed second with 5 gold, 5 silver and 2 bronze medals while Nadroga/Navosa are placed third with 5 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze medals.

Looking at the boys division, team capital city lead with 4 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals, followed by Nadroga/Navosa in second place with 4 gold medals.

In the girls division, Nadi lead with 3 gold and 4 silver medals, Suva are second with 3 gold, 4 silver and 1 bronze medal while Ra are placed third with 3 gold and 1 bronze and silver medal each.

The 2019 Chow Games will continue today at ANZ Stadium in Suva.
