The Delai-Narona family from Kadavu will take a different approach by organizing a rugby sevens tournament to support Cop 23.

The idea of supporting cop 23 through a rugby sevens competition began last year when the Narona family organized the Go Green rugby 7s tournament in Garvey Park Tavua.

Tournament organizer Emosi Cagi says majority of Fijians are rugby 7s fans and having this competition will spread the awareness rapidly across the country.

“The only way to educate the young generation is too organize a rugby competition and tell the spectators to abide by its theme because it will help in the preservation of marine life and the environment.”

During the event last year, their theme was plastic free and this year they focus on afforestation.

The tournament will host 32 teams and will be held on the 23rd and 24th of next month at the Garvey Park in Tavua.
