A 12 year old boy lost his life yesterday after he was hit by a bus at Vuci Rd in Nausori.

Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro says the victim crossed the road from the back of a bus and was hit by an oncoming bus.

He was taken to Wainibokasi Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

The road death toll now stands at 30 compared to 24 for the same period last year.

The victim was a Year 7 student of Dilkusha Boys School in Nausori.

Naisoro says the bus has been towed to Nausori Police Station for inspection as investigations continue.
