The Fijian government has today made it stand clear that child labor, forced labor, and human trafficking will not be tolerated in the country.
Minister for Employment, Parveen Kumar made this statement while speaking at the National Strategic Forum to develop a joint roadmap for Fiji as a Pathfinder country to eliminate forced labor.
Kumar says the government will remain committed to leading the region in the eradication of all forms of forced labor, particularly that of children.
“The Fijian government stands with the international community making it clear that persistence of child labor, forced labor and human trafficking in today’s world is intolerable.”
With Fiji being identified as one of the countries to be a pathfinder nation of eliminating all forms of forced labor and human trafficking, Kumar says they will continue to ensure there is a level playing field for the treatment of workers.
