The Government will not rest on its laurels until every single household has access to safe clean drinking water.
This was highlighted by Minister for Infrastructure, Jone Usamate while commissioning the joint rural water scheme project at Sawakasa Village, in Tailevu.
Usamate says the new water supply system is a joint scheme which benefits Fijians in Sakawasa Village, Waivou Settlement, Lodoni Village and Lodoni Primary School.
“This water project has costed government one hundred and seventy-nine thousand dollars and it is an investment that we are happy to make because from clean water there are many benefits that keep us more productive and more resilient to environmental hardships.”
The water system will benefit more than 800 Fijians in Tailevu.
