The newest political party, Unity Fiji says since their party was established earlier this year they have been open to joining other parties for the 2018 Election.
Leader, Savenaca Narube says while their party name reflects their ideals for a united front, their offer to join other more established political parties has not being reciprocated.
“One of our aims when we got established was to try to create that unity amongst political parties that is still our aim. So we have talked a lot to other parties, all the other parties. We have left the door open for any possibilities of coming together, but up to now, it’s been very difficult.”
Unity Fiji expects to release their manifesto next week in addition to filing nominations for 51 proposed candidates hoping to contest the election.
