The United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21) that will be held in Paris, France in December has a lot of significance for Fiji and other small Pacific Islands countries.

British High Commissioner to Fiji – Roderick Drummond says the Embassy is working closely with Fiji and its Pacific Island neighbors in preparation for the meeting.

“We are looking beyond that as well because increasingly after the Paris conference many of the new source of funding like the Global Climate Fund will become available and we are looking to see how we can target that in areas here in Fiji and the Pacific to help mitigate the effects of climate change and help move the economies in Fiji and the Pacific to low carbon future.”
