The late Tui Nasavusavu Ratu Suliano Naulumatua will be buried at the chiefly burial grounds or sautabu in Nukubalavu Village today.

The late Ratu Suli was the leading chief of the district of Nasavusavu.

A solemn funeral procession left Savusavu Hospital yesterday for the chiefly village.

Hundreds of villagers, students and residents of Savusavu lined the streets of the town to pay their last respects to the late chief.

Warriors from Naidi and Nacekoro are guarding the body of their chief until he is finally laid to rest.

The Tui Cakau Ratu Naiqama Lalabalavu will overlook the funeral ceremony today.

Ratu Suli is survived by his wife and four children.
