Trough of low pressure affects Fiji

A trough of low pressure currently lies slow moving over the southern parts of Fiji.

Associated clouds and showers are currently affecting most parts of the country.

Meanwhile, a high pressure system to the south of Fiji directs a fresh to strong moist easterly wind flow over the group.

Mariners are being warned that there will be easterly winds 20 to 30 knots which will be gusty at times.

Occasional showers will be experienced over the southern half of Viti Levu, Kadavu, Lau and Lomaiviti group, the eastern parts and interior of the other larger islands.

Showers expected to ease by later today.
