Suva market and bus stand to be redesigned

The Suva City Council has come up with a plan to re-design the Suva municipal market and the bus stand.

At a recent public appearance, Suva Special Administrator, Chandu Umaria revealed the $110 million project is expected to re-define the look of the 2 sites.

The Council is currently waiting for the necessary government approvals and seeking funding partnership to get the project off the ground.

Umaria says there are big plans for other parts of the capital as well.

“Suva City is on the move to provide better infrastrucutre and amenities for the comfot and enjoyment of its citizens. The Council is also developing a 10 year master plan for the foreshore development.”

The Special Administrator says all the efforts to beautify the city are also expected to make Suva more appealing for visitors arriving on cruise ships.
