Sugar Industry will survive: FSC

The Fiji Sugar Corporation believes the two major floods this year will not end the sugar industry.

Executive Chair Abdul Khan says the damage caused by the floods to sugar cane farms and sugar mills have been beyond anyone’s control.

Khan says stakeholders need to work together to find ways and means of quickly restoring the industry back on its feet after the natural disaster.

He says they will go ahead with the crushing season this year despite the bad weather and floods.

Khan says damage done to the sugar industry is still being assessed.
