February 12, 2016 1:12 am

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama polled 202,459 votes and cannot be replaced by Opposition Member Ro Teimumu Kepa, who did not even get above 50,000 votes, says the government whips Ashneel Sudhakar.

Sudhakar was contributing to the motion of no confidence in Parliament this morning.

He says Bainimarama does not go about hugging coup perpetrators instead he puts them in jail.

“The person who they want o to replace our Prime Minister with doesn’t have the confidence of their own party. In fact the only reason she is sitting here is because she was pardoned by the party. The recommendation was for her to be removed and to my surprise Madam Speaker, the person who has moved the motion as a signatory to that letter on 19 August 2015 sent to the hierarchy of SODELPA asking for removal. This is like soccer or rugby team half of them are defending and half of them are digging their own goal.”

Sudhakar says this motion is created to make fun of the system.
