School children in Kadavu have been sent home due to strong winds and advisories of Tropical Cyclone Winston.
Vunisea Police Constable Ovini Burekalou told FBC News that boarders will soon be sent home too.
He says they’re also working with the military officers based in Kadavu in closely monitoring the situation in Nasegai, Wailevu, Ravitaki and Nabukelevu.
He adds they are also working closely with government officials based in Vunisea.
Constable Burekalou says they are experiencing strong winds and rough seas.
Twenty-three Police officers and six military officials are working around the island along with government officials, who are working with a team from DISMAC.
