Ministry’s Permanent Secretary and Chair of STAR steering committee, Malakai Finau says the conference is a meeting of Geoscientists and related sciences and would reflect on the linkage between the Geosciences and the Oceans and Islands and its natural resources.

Leading regional geoscience, technology and resource specialists are expected to convene at the conference to draw attention to opportunities that can be realised from Sustainable Development Goals 14 on Oceans.

This is to provide new focus for the development of targets that can be measured and tracked upon good scientific principles and data.

The conference will be held in Nadi from Monday and ends on Thursday next week.
