The 2019 South Pacific Tourism Exchange will be held in Auckland New Zealand with the aim to increase the number of tourist arrivals in the country.
62 international buyers from 14 countries and 94 sellers from 17 Pacific Island Countries will be part of the SPTE.
South Pacific Tourism Organisation Chief Executive Christopher Cocker says during this two-day meet the buyers and sellers will negotiate and sign contracts for selling packages to tourist destinations.
“So it’s one avenue of us trying to help the Pacific increase the number of tourist arrival from our major source markets and also from the emerging markets as well.”
Cocker says the theme for this year’s tourism exchange is “Sustainable tourism development- through people to people connectivity.”
