SPATS to accredit theological school programmes

November 7, 2017 3:59 am

The South Pacific Association of Theological Schools will now accredit programmes in all theological schools around the country.

This follows the signing of an agreement between the SPATS and the Fiji Higher Education Commission.

Commission Director, Linda Aumua says both parties have been working during the last five years to make this happen.

”They are very much a quality assurance body that reaches right across the region and right across the Pacific and they actually have a specialist and knowledge on theological programmes which we actually don’t have the capacity to do.”

SPATS President, Carolina Chambers, says they have been trying to establish networks with other national accreditation agencies to find a way forward in ensuring coordination and alignment with accreditation systems and processes.

SPATS will now accredit the nine theological schools currently registered under the Commission.
