Sahyadri Hospital to focus on disabled persons

A screening of persons with disabilities and visually impaired who suffer from orthopedic deformity and Ophthalmology will be carried out by the Sahyadri Hospital and the Health Ministry.

Director of the Sahyadri Specialty Hospitals Pacific, Professor Mannu Bhargav says they want to shortlist the patients for further treatment.

“The aim and objective first to visit all these places, screen the patients and find out who can be made able and to what extent and how the surgery or the treatment can be provided.”

Professor Bhargav says the expert doctors from India will be performing screenings in Labasa, Suva, Sigatoka, Ba and Lautoka.

The first phase will begin next month together with cultural events to raise medical awareness in these locations.
