Fiji Roads Authority have adopted new technique in an effort to get Kasavu strip in Nausori sorted out.

FRA Chief Executive Jonathan Moore is adamant the new technique which involves reinforcement of the ground is stable and relatively quick and is non-intrusive as well.

Moore says it has been introduced in many parts of the world and is commonly used in New Zealand.

“You see when you driving across the bridge, the team has taken away the slip face of the dumping area and is now doing a soil land project so what does that mean we put re-enforcement into the ground and we’ve embarked them with layers so we put a lot of mash layers to strengthen the ground for the new embankment.”

He adds an overseas contract is already on the ground with 45 percent of work completed.
