Serving prisoner Tevita Qaqanivalu escaped from the Naboro Minimum Prison Complex at 3am today.

Police confirms check points have been created and will be manned throughout the day as the search operations for the escapee continues.

Qaqanivalu was serving time for a series of burglaries and theft cases.

Anyone with information is requested to call Crime Stoppers on 919.

Police warns it is an offence to harbour prisoners, therefore, members of the public are urged to do the right thing and report his whereabouts to Police.
