Chief of Intelligence and Investigations ACP Henry Brown says tackling sexual offences against women and children is going to need the support of the community.

However in this instance, ACP Brown says considering the severity of the case and several pleas for assistance there were still people who were intent on helping the suspect.

As a result the investigation will focus on both the alleged perpetrator as well as those who have been assisting him.

The 31 year old suspect was apprehended on Saturday afternoon at Naroro settlement in Nadroga and remains in custody at the Lautoka Police Station.
