Police are now searching for a man who allegedly stabbed his ex-wife several times in Samabula, Suva last night.
The victim sustained serious injuries from the attack.
The incident occurred at the junction of Namuka and Fulaga Street after 7pm.
The victim is admitted at the CWM hospital and the circumstances surrounding the alleged attack is still unclear.
50-year-old retired police officer Serupepeli Lailai told FBC News that he heard a woman scream for help and rushed to the scene with his wife.
The two saw the suspect stabbing the woman and some people who were nearby tried to stop the attack but were threatened by the assailant.
His wife, Resina Lailai said that the victim was spitting out blood and had stab wounds.
Lailai and his wife then rushed the woman to the hospital.
