Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama this morning officially welcomed the ten grandmothers who were in India for solar engineering training.

Bainimarama says the engineers will be a great asset to the country… lighting up villages and improving the livelihood of people in Fiji.

He says the training offered to the ten women is a life changing program and will also help towards the government’s poverty alleviation strategy.

The Prime Minister says such training will empower the disadvantaged women to go to greater heights in being agents of change in the society.

The women arrived into the country yesterday.
