National China Day and Moon Festival

Today marks the sixty-eighth year of establishment of the People’s Republic of China.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama celebrated the Chinese National Day and Moon festival with the Fijian Chinese community in Suva today.

Voreqe Bainimarama while addressing the crowd said he is thankful to China for always supporting Fiji in every way.

“They are role models in our workforce with their discipline and hard-work. They have helped us achieve, economic growth in Fiji and have put us on a path of continuous economic prosperity. Over the past decade, my Government has made Fiji such where no Fijian is favored on the basis of religion, ethnic background, location, gender or any of the difference that together make up our society”

Family and Friends gathered at the celebration for good food, fun and loads of entertainment.

On this day lots of large scaled activities are held nationwide while in China this day is marked as a public holiday.

People are given seven days of holiday and regard it as the “Golden Week” in China.
