The Public Rental Board will try and move tenants earning above $25,000 to home ownership.

This is done in order to accommodate those that are on their waiting list.

PRB Chief Executive Patrick Veu says it’s important for them to allocate spaces to applicants who are lower income earners and the need for tenants to move is paramount.

Veu says more than 100 tenants are involved and consultation is ongoing for the tenants earning higher incomes to be accommodated at a housing authority subdivision.

For us it is economical to refer them to Housing Authority for a property as you know the cost of construction is high and for us to refer them to Housing Authority, we have been talking and we hope they will be accommodating them in their new subdivisions.

PRB has already begun its income survey and has covered more than eighty-five percent of their tenants.
