More women are venturing into yaqona farming.
Acting Senior Agriculture Officer Bua Inise Sakoro says yaqona is not a crop that can only be planted by men.
She says about five to ten women in a village are now yaqona farmers.
Sakoro told FBC News in Wainunu that the good price in yaqona is encouraging women to take up farming.
_" You can see there is an increase in women participating in farming. Its because of the lucrative of the market especially yoqona, there is interest coming from our women farmers."-

Sakoro is encouraging more women to take up farming to help uplift their livelihood.
