October 7, 2012 7:14 pm

Environment Minister Samuela Saumatua has backed development work around Suva where mangroves have had to be cut down.

This comes as increased investments and businesses have to move out of Suva.

Saumatua has every faith that all procedures are being followed.

He says officers from his department are keeping an eye on all development not just in Suva but all over Fiji.

And if their assessment shows that damage will occur – they will not approve the project.

Mangroves are being removed at Nadonumai, Veisari and Nasese.
