A 50-year-old man of Jittu Estate in Suva appeared in court this morning for slapping a five year-old boy on the face.

Sefanaia Tubuna pleaded guilty to a charge of common assault.

The court heard that on July 24th this year, Tubuna’s son was playing with the victim at their home.

The boy punched Tubuna’s son and in return Tubuna slapped him on the face.

Tubuna sought forgiveness in court this morning.

However, Magistrate Makereta Mua told him to seek forgiveness from the victims’ parents.

Tubuna will be sentenced on the 16th of October.
