The Suva High Court has sentenced a man to five months imprisonment suspended for three years for unlawful wounding.
The Court heard the 30-year-old wounded his wife by throwing a glass at her head.
Last December, the accused and his wife were drinking with their friends when the incident has occurred.

The Judge took into consideration that a custodial sentence would be a harsh penalty for the crime.
The court has issued a permanent domestic violence restraining order with standard non-molestation conditions.
This is issued for the well-being and safety of the victim.
