Maharaj says application forms will be distributed according to places where there is a high demand for taxi services.

The highest demand for taxi services are from the Central and the Western division.

The Land Transport Authority will also appoint an independent committee which will review all taxi permit applications.

LTA currently has more than 100 applications before the freeze was put in place in 2011.
