December 19, 2015 7:31 pm

The Land Transport Authority has cancelled the licence of a car dealership based in Laucala Beach namely the Ariana Used Cars and Spare Parts Sales Limited.

LTA CEO Naisa Tuinaceva says the decision was made after it was revealed that the firm had been selling vehicles with tampered odometers.

Tuinaceva has called on the public not to purchase any vehicle from Ariana Used Cars and Spare Parts Limited as all vehicles bought from the firm would not be registered.

Tuinaceva says the firm has also failed to comply with the terms and conditions listed in the authorised motor vehicle dealers licence legislation.

After months of investigations by the authority and in light of the company’s forced shutdown, LTA has issued a stern warning to all authorised motor vehicle dealers to conduct clean and ethical business at all times with their customers.

He says improper and fraudulent business dealings were unacceptable and those implicated would face a full brunt of the law.
